Greg Creek Dip.C.E.,B.Eng.,Grad.Dip.Nat.Res. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Positiion: Senior Training Officer Experience: After completing studies in engineering and natural resource management Greg worked with local government, sewage contractors, consulting engineers and various government agencies. He joined the WTC in 1989 and was involved in training for 5 years. Greg worked with the Environment Protection Authority throughout SW Victoria for nearly 14 years as a Project Manager. He joined the WITC in 2007 and is involved in developing and delivering training courses. Anthea Duthie Position: Bookings and Office Manager Experience: Her broad experience in computer applications is used in general word processing spreadsheet applications, graphics and pagemaking in manual preparation as well as keeping accounting records. John Park Position: Director Experience: After seven years of engineering experience with State Rivers and Water Supply Commission, John started at WTC in 1980. He is involved in all aspects of the Centre's business including- · Course management and instruction · Providing training advice and training plans in operations and maintenance to the water and wastewater industry · Development and implementation of new training courses. John has expertise in a wide range of treatment, water quality and occupational health and safety practices. John is a Director of WITC and has had considerable involvement in the water industry through the Australian Water Association and Water Industry Operators Association. Stephen Wilson Position: Director Experience: Post graduate research into the removal of heavy metals from wastewater; Examination of patent, applications related to water and wastewater processes; Chemical analysis. Stephen joined the Training Centre in 1985, and has expertise in water and wastewater treatment, process monitoring and the development of the Water Training Package. Corporate Structure The Water Industry Training Centre is a privately owned company which retains the intellectual property of the antecedent organisation, the Water Training Centre - State Body. The business is staffed by personnel who have had significant experience with the antecedent organisation ensuring the retention of industry relevance. WITC Training Quality Staff at the Water Industry Training Centre maintain training quality by adherence to the assessment provisions of the Water Training Package. This is aided by staff having responsibility for the development of training courses through to delivery and assessment of that training. |
Service Strategy The Water Industry Training Centre has a number of strategies to maintain high quality training products and training delivery. The WITC maintains strong contacts with our key stakeholders within the Water and Waste Management Industry. We maintain on-going consultations to help identify your needs and any training opportunities. The Water Industry Training Centre communicates with client organisations to receive training information and updates. This may include telephone or email contact regarding Module Bookings, Schedule changes and confirmations. | Capability Statement The Water Industry Training Centre is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) which has the Water Training Package (NWP07) in its Scope of Registration. Training Modules are delivered which are mapped to Units of Competency from the Training Package and the Centre is able to award the following qualifications-
The Water Industry Training Centre is located at the Deakin University Waurn Ponds campus in Geelong and uses shared training rooms and laboratory and practical facilities. Nearby water and wastewater treatment plants are also visited to support practical training. The Centre has been providing training to water industry operations personnel since 1978 and has considerable expertise in water and wastewater treatment. Training modules are regularly conducted at the Centre through its Training Schedule and strategies are available for training to be provided on-site at any location throughout Australia. |
